New Java Drill Viewer

 New Plug-ins available

Pyware at the Olympics

If you tuned into the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics in Salt Lake City, you saw Pyware 3D Java in action. Don Mischer productions and his creative team (including designer Colin Surles), used 3D Java and the new 3D Floor Covers plug-in to help them design and implement a large part of the show. In fact, the Floor Covers plug-in was originally developed for the creative team's use in designing and animating the ice skating portion of the show and entry of the Olympic teams into the stadium.

It's not the first time Don Mischer and his team have use 3D to help them in the design and production of an Olympic event.

At the 1996 Centennial games in Atlanta, 3D proved invaluable in the show design, rehearsal time and projection of camera coverage of the Opening and Closing ceremonies according to Mischer.

From the reaction to this years Olympic Opening Ceremonies, it seems 3D Java proved useful to the team once again. Be sure to watch the Closing Ceremonies this year and see 3D Java in action. It is guaranteed to be one of the most spectacular "closers" in history!

Py Kolb
President

Here are just some of the things our customers have had to say over the past twenty years.

"As I write you concerning the Charting Aid, I feel much like ditch diggers must have felt when the steam shovel was invented. My concern....will this new technology eliminate the need for my service, or will it increase my creativity and quality work? The answer is not totally clear at this moment. But one certainty is evident. Pywareª will change the life of every person who uses it."

Bob Buckner - 1982

"I used the Pyware Charting Aid for the 1984 Opening and Closing Olympic Ceremonies held in Los Angeles and the Centennial Statue of Liberty Ceremony in New York. I continue to use Pyware with the University of Southern California Band for six shows a year. I still love it."

Lee Carlson - 1984 Los Angeles Olympics

"The Amadeus Ear Training System has revolutionized the way in which my students understand Intonation Training. The tuning screen as well as the computer accompaniment has helped them to truly understand, not only visually but aurally, when they are out of tune."

Robert Sherman - 1986

"Music Writer for the Apple IIGS does more than any other program on the market. Quickly enter notation by mouse, use a synthesizer for real-time and step-time recording. Print beautifully. The manual's content and graphics stand head and shoulders above most competition. It is on my top 40 list of software for education."

A+ Magazine - 1988

"One of the most convenient features of the Music Administrator is the ease of customizing a program. I learned to delete, add, name and edit fields the first day I got the program...Music Administrator seems to do everything I want. Thank you for such a useful tool...It has made my life much easier!"

Marty Province - 1990

"The Pyware Charting Aid System has allowed the Cavalier Visual Staff to realize the potential of some of our effects before we even teach them. It has saved us a terrific amount of teaching and more importantly... reteaching time."

Jeff Fiedler - Cavaliers - 1992 Drum Corps International Champions

"I'd like to thank you for your contribution to our production of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Centennial Olympic Games this summer in Atlanta. These Ceremonies were the most aggressive and complicated shows ever attempted,. Your 3D drill design software was an extremely useful tool in our planning. Its ability to animate sections of the show proved useful not only in show design, but in efficiently planning rehearsal time and projecting camera coverage."

Don Mischer - Executive Producer/Director - 1996 Centennial Olympic Games

"I am so very impressed with the outcome of 3D Java. It is going to save me so much more time on my shows. I cannot say enough good things about it! I'll never be able to thank you properly for putting this entire drill design program together with such incredible quality."

Scott Rankin - S&S Elite Customized Marching Services - 2000

"Online Amadeus and the Standard of Excellence Practice and Assessment software is the benchmark for computer music teaching standards assessment software."

Dr. John Kuzmich - 2001

"I began using Pyware for designing my band drills in 1994. I am still using the Pyware 3D for the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as numerous High School marching bands across the country. There is nothing you can do by hand that you cannot do with Pyware! The amount of time saved is incredible. The results are excellent. We highly recommend this tool for people designing any kind of drill"

Michael Gaines, Designer - Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps - 2001

"The Phantom Regiment has found Pyware drill design software to be the most useful and interactive program on the market. 3D Java is now in the hands of each of our designers. Not only do we have a wonderful design tool, but these products have allowed instant and daily communication among the music and visual designers. We are certain that this years Phantom Regiment production will once again become an instant classic, thanks to Pyware products."

Patrick Seidling - Director -2002

For more than nineteen years Pyware has been recognized as the leader in software specifically designed to meet the needs of music educators across the country. Our current drill design package - Dynamic Drill Design (or "3D") - has taken the industry by storm, and is the tool of choice for championship bands and winter guards. 3D has even been used in special events such as Super Bowl half time shows and the Olympics Open and Closing Ceremonies. Virtual 3D adds the capability of evaluating the effectiveness of a drill. 3D Java is our newest offering bringing the most advanced technology and development environment to an already outstanding program. The Music Administrator for the Macintosh and Music Office for Windows 95, give the director an easy-to-use tool for those administrative tasks that we all must face each day. Our hardware line includes Amadeus al fine, which - together with the Amadeus Tutor - offers the band director a means of assessing and evaluating each student's performance of an exercise. These exercises can be developed by the director, or are available in a correlated series with the "Standard of Excellence" band method published by Kjos. You will also want to check out our other new offering in the Amadeus family, Online Amadeus. This product brings the power and convenience of the internet into your classroom & home.
