Re: Is there a "What's your coordinate" feature?
I like this idea. If it's not already available, I would like to see this added to the list of potential new features.

Re: Rotate props over time?
AWESOME!pygraph wrote:You are not able to rotate props during the drill in 3D as of yet. That feature has been added and will be available in version 7 when it is released.
My workaround was to add performers, chart them really close together, and then chart them like drill to represent my props.

Rotate props over time?
So I know how to rotate props, and I know how to move/animate props over time, but how can I do both? I have several props that are long and flat. And they move/pivot at various points during the show. Imagine a pencil on your desk that you can rotate. These props rotate to create paths/channels tha...

Ugh! If you do add this feature, I hope we can shut it off. I don't want to be reminded that I make about $.000001 per hour when writing drill

Re: Refining bezier shape
That would be awesome if if could remember where your bezier anchors and handles were. So if you ever went back to edit them, you could pick up exactly where you left off and manipulate the bezier tools instead of the morph tool's points. This is how tools like Adobe Illustrator work with bezier sha...

Re: Extending counts in a drill file
Just go to the Utilities menu (upper left) and select Count Editor. There you can add counts to your drill file anywhere you like. It sounds like you would want to add them to the end.

Re: Ripple effect
And if you add a mark time in there between the forward march and the backwards march, and alternate between stepping off forwards or backwards, you can get the more rounded-off" DNA effect that the Cavaliers made famous.

Re: Symbols now appearing one step away from actual spot
Changing to a font other than the Pyware font corrects the problem. But as soon as I switch back to the Pyware symbol font, the position shifts back. About one full step above the actual position.

Symbols now appearing one step away from actual spot
Running Mac OS 10.4.11 and Pyware 3D Interactive v4.2.12. Recently (last week) installed the Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 8 update. Since then, the symbols I am using in Pyware appear about 1 step above where they actually are in the drill. Not the label, but the symbol. The problem only occurs w...

Re: Coordinate Sheet suggestions
#1. Is it redundant to have the first line be "Performer:" and then have the next line start off as "Performing as cast member:" Or maybe there is a use for this that I am not understanding? I would agree. I have to tell my kids "just ignore this" a lot when teaching them how to read coordinate she...

Re: Intervals...
I don't think it matters. My band has 58 winds this year and we'll march between 2.5 and 3 step intervals for most of the show. As long as they are not always changing so the kids can dress a form with some consistent intervals from set to set, you should be fine. That being said, it depends on what...

Re: Split Tempo Movements?
I wouldn't waste time getting Pyware to animate it correctly. If you know what you want to do, then just make sure the starting and ending charts are correct and then teach it. I used to wast SO much time in Pyware getting it to animate things that really didn't need to be animated. For example, a l...

Re: Using the pit space
BOA rules let you go 12 ft. in front of the front sideline. To play it safe, I never chart anyone more than 6 steps in front. You can go as far off the sides and back as the stadium allows. As a funny story, we found out the hard way in Iowa that front sideline and goal lines are out of bounds. Of c...

Wording options on coordinate sheets
I would love to be able to change the front-back wording to read "Behind Front Hash" or "in Front of Front Side Line" Inside/outside makes sense for side-to-side, but it's confusing for front-to-back. I've always used "in front" or "behind" for my front-to-back positioning. Letting the user pick the...

Re: FOLLOW THE LEADER, HELP!!
Sometimes its just not worth it to get it to animate correctly. But sometimes you can combine FTL with other tools. For example, do a FTL and then go back and use the push tool and slide the form over. The animation will combine the two. Or use a follow the leader, and then for the last few counts o...

Version 4 update features
The website talks a lot about the new features for students, performers and teachers. What about the designer? What new tools or enhancements are there for them?
Also, I have version 2. Do I have to upgrade to version 4 or can I just upgrade to version 3?

If I have version 4 and my drill writer has version 3, can we swap files back and forth?
Or can version 4 open version 3 files?
Or can version 3 open version 4 files?
Or can version 4 save as version 3?
