Re: Mac OS X Lion and Pyware
so... I hesitated but couldn't wait. Upgraded to Lion a couple days ago. Just wanted to reaffirm that Pyware works great in 10.7 Lion. A few adjustments were needed with my mouse and game controller shortcuts (meaning no more exposé/spaces) but it's all working great. I really like the OS a lot! Som...

Re: Pyware version 6 from version 4
Yes, I'm pretty sure that Pyware v6 can read v4 just fine, as well as any other drill written using the Java versions. But if you wanted your colleague to be able to read any files that you are working with on your computer, you would have to save it as a v4 file, which is in the dropdown menu in th...

Re: Audio Won't Play in Pyware
I can't help you but since it's the weekend it'll probably be another day until you get a reply from anyone at Pyware. In the mean time, do them a favor and provide more information about your system so they'll be able to narrow things down a bit. What version of Pyware are you running? (3.x, 4.x, 5...

Re: Follow the Leader tool?
hey there... well, in my personal opinion i wouldn't even bother trying to make that kind of animation work. I mean, I understand what you are trying to do and I don't know how to do it without writing paths for each individual person as they go around the prop and to the next set.... but if it were...

Re: Mac OS X Lion and Pyware
So I just upgraded to both Lion OS X and Pyware 6 today. Installing went according to plan. However, when opening the program from both the Dock and my Finder window I get a message: Unable to start program Problem:/Library/ApplicationSupport/Pyware3Dv6/lib/settings.txt (No such file or directory) ...

Re: Extending counts in a drill file
edit: combia1 beat me to it... ^^^ :) There's an easy fix for this! Up on the top in the menu bar you'll see "Utilities". Click that and select "Count Editor". A small window will appear and will give you options to add or remove counts. "Insert Counts" will be selected by default. The second line ...

Re: Technical Question - opening files
George, Can you tell me where to get the Property List Editor? I've searched Apple's site and am apparently not as internet savvy as I thought…. Thanks. Hey Jeff, Sorry for the delayed reply. The app I found is called PlistEdit Pro and it was part of the Xcode tools that Apple offers. You didn't do...

Re: Working Backwards
I really like the field layout you have in the final youtube video. How exactly did you get that? Thanks... still working on it but I have a better one under construction. Production of the new field is on hold until after I've completed the bulk of my drill. Maybe get back at it in the fall. I jus...

Re: Working Backwards
Hey Joel... what's happenin'? :) As for me, I have been writing backwards and forwards and sideways since as far back as I can remember... which is only in the last 6 years since I started using Java. :P It seems to be the most creative and flexible way of designing drill that best suits my style. I...

Re: Pyware 6.0.6 Update not updating version number
I am also experiencing this very odd issue. Before this current update I was on 6.0.4. I went to the Updates page on the Pyware website and found out that v6.0.6 was released. Prior to downloading this update from the Pyware website, upon noticing the 6.0.6 update being posted, my computer wasn't re...

Re: Mac OS X Lion and Pyware
Cool! Thanks for the info, Kevin. Even though I've been assured now by both of you, I need to wait. Kind of still hoping for a new iPhone to be announced in the fall. If not, no biggie! I'm available for upgrade in August so if there's a September-ish release of a new phone (assuming it'll all happe...

Re: Mac OS X Lion and Pyware
Thanks for the info. I figured this would be a good topic to start for other users, besides just me. I understand that it may all still work, but when I upgraded to Snow Leopard a couple years ago, even though I was on Pyware v5, I still had problems when everyone else didn't. It wouldn't even stay ...

Mac OS X Lion and Pyware
We're still 4-6 weeks from the official Lion release for Mac. Knowing that there were a few hiccups with Pyware v4 and Snow Leopard upon its Sept 2009 release, I just wanted to first of all ask if anyone out there is a developer and able to give feedback on the compatibility with running Pyware (all...

Re: Technical Question - opening files
Ok... had to do a few extra steps in there but I got through the steps. FYI - I didn't already have a Property list editor on my computer. I had to download Plist Edit Pro from the Apple website. Looks like it was part of the Xtools (or whatever... SDK - developer tools.) Anyway, that was easy... I ...

whoa! Thanks, Dustin. I'll give this a go and see if it works. (I assume it will.) :) I do remember when I was on Windows that I was able to get the file to open by double-clicking on it. I found that very useful back then. I remember noticing it didn't work right away when I got my first Mac in 200...

Re: Technical Question - opening files
George I will do some investigation and see what I can come up with. We do have 3D accepting a file as a variable when it is opened so it should be opening the file if the OS has assigned the file type to the software. I'm not sure that I completely understand what you just said.... It's prob...

Re: Mouse buttons don't work
I had this problem as well, but I don't remember what we did to solve it. All I can say, however, is that one of the solutions to my shortcuts problem was to modify many of them to something drastically different from what their default setting was. For example, I use a Mac computer but the "Command...

Technical Question - opening files
I've probably asked this before, but I'm not too sure if I've asked it in the same way. I'm speaking as a Mac user, specifically and I've already done a little bit of my own online research and not yet been able to come up with a solution. Currently I am running Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.7. When se...

Re: When I print, fonts look different
Hey man... I hear ya.
What I would suggest is to just overdo the text box size a bit and click the "smaller" button one time to make the text smaller.
As awkward as it may look on the screen, it will work out in the end when you print.

One band I know writes sheets with separate columns for Winds, Perc, Guard, Misc Notes. Chris, Hey man - I have an idea of something you can do in the mean time as this is what I did for one of my clients this year which is almost exactly what you are asking about. Right now, we have those 3 "Notes...

Re: Chart and Coordinate sheets do not match
I can't answer for the issue regarding the coordinates printing differently than what you see on the charts, but maybe the animation fix will work for both. If you modify the drill after it was already written, there's this little trick that seems to work fine to fix that "blip". Go to the page you ...

Changing the opacity of some elements
This is a suggestion I have thought of for a long time but have had so few needs for it in the past that I kept forgetting to mention it. However, this year is an exception. I have several shows where I have to indicate on the charts with arrows and lines where people need to go and what has to happ...
