Re: Keyboard Shortcuts
What about an option for the PLAY/PAUSE button to be controlled with the space bar? you can actually set a shortcut for that... you can set a shortcut for basically ANY of the controls in Pyware. The default shortcut to animate is alt+A but you can modify it to whatever you want. First go to Utilit...

Game Controllers with Pyware
Hi all... I am actually doing a bit of a follow up to a previous post I wrote a while back talking about using a mouse with multiple customizable buttons to improve writing efficiency... this time I'm going to talk about game controllers. :) Having been writing for a number of years now (2010 being ...

Re: Swapping Performers
George, Thanks for the tip - definitely faster! I MAY have to do a rewrite of the page... problem is, those performers won't move to the NEXT set correctly if they are in a different order. And when I use morph... it doesn't do anything - unless I'm using it wrong? Hmm... well, actually you are doi...

Re: Copy and Paste, within the same file
Well, the same matching order only applies to whatever the order is set to on the previous set - Page 3. I can only assume you're having this issue where you copy/paste and the order of the instruments is messed up. You can either manually regroup - or, what I would do, set the "yellow" anchor to pa...

Re: Swapping Performers
Well... I'm not on v4 at the moment and can't give you specific information on the rewrite function it has (because it does have SOME function, I just forget what it is) but my tip would be to do it the way I do when I need to do something like that - change the color or symbol of those two position...

Re: Default Selection Tool
@Phantom Demon Yeah, I actually have the same issues at times because I also use the lasso tool quite frequently, if not more than the normal selecting option. I don't know what kind of mouse set up you use or if you use just a touchpad on a laptop (I know many who do though I can't write that way),...

Re: upgrading to v5
Hey Reed, no problem! I'm sure there are other options... I just have never felt comfortable working on multiple machines unless it was a "last resort" situation. Haven't been there yet though. I think the improvements from v4 to v5 are like going from a BMX to a 18-speed. Both are great, but v5 has...

Re: upgrading to v5
Reed, I would guess that if you really needed to do that, yes, that should work. v5 has a built in option to "save as" a v4 compatible drill file. However, as you've probably read or seen in the update notes, you wouldn't be able to save or view any of the v5-only features, like the production sheet...

Re: No Grid
I installed 3DJIE v.4 on my new MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.4) . Every time I attempt to do any function (add a performer, sync music. etc) my field grid disappears to the grey backdrop. I can get it back if I recenter, but I am unable to accomplish any actions. http://pyware.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: Audio Sync only works from the beginning
I too have had this issue. Many times, in fact, but I have no knowledge of what the conditions are/were when those instances happened since I don't really encounter that any more. ---- On a side note - and not meant to answer your post... just info I wanted to pass along: I think it has something to...

Re: Stride Zone?
lets say you select a dot... flute #1... the move between the two sets/page tabs is 8 counts total. What the stride zone will do is show an "area" which corresponds with whatever your setting for largest step size warning is. In this case, for 1 person going 8 counts... the stride zone would end abo...

Ryan, Ryan, Ryan.... What does the H stand for anyway. "High-on-life"? tanks berry mooch... ? first of all, make sure you're on version 5.0.8, which is the latest version. After that, go to the menu - Utilities - Grid Designer. Click on "Color Options" and change the perspective window colors....

Re: New Snow Leopard OS upgrade?
3D Version 5 is the only supported version for Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. All earlier versions of 3D require a version of the Java running environment that is not included with Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. Dustin, Will there be a fix for this? I found this quote online in regards to snow leopard and Ja...

Pyware Forum User "Tags" - OS/Pyware ver.
Hi, I just wanted to pitch the idea - if it's even possible - to maybe set a feature on the forums here that would allow all of those subscribed to customize a permanent "tag" or "signature" that includes our pyware version, os and whatever other info we wish to provide. (computer brand, processor, ...

it's probably best to e-mail dustin - dustin@pyware.com just trying to help, but I don't know how often they check the forums on weekend. Hardest Direction Change!
I wanted to propose this idea for an update suggestion. (at the risk it may have been suggested already and I missed it on here, I'm going to write it all out anyway). EDIT: As I suspected, someone else posted a suggestion for this (a couple years ago, it seems - Stride "Change" Warning Tool ) and I...

Thank you SO much for this information. As I said, I didn't find that in the manual, though I may have missed it as I didn't read through the entire PDF. (just the section on shortcut keys).
I'll see if this all works. I appreciate the reply.

Re: Path of Least Resistance
Hi Mike, Coming from another designer here (8 years using pyware) - I think you're misinterpreting this as a program flaw, when in fact it's something you can take care of as you are drawing each set. It's just part of the care we need to put in, because the software has to allow for multiple custom...
