Changing Icons

Post by mightyhorn » Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:23 am

Very new to pyware... (about 1 month)
Recently bought a package show....
How do I change the figures (instrument pictures) to either something more generic or to the horn arrangement I am going to use?
Thank You

The Performer's uniform and equipment are assigned in the Visual Editor. This is the Red Flag on the tool palette.

Select a range of performers on count 0 and then go to the Visual Editor. In the Body tab you will be able to select your uniform type and hat type. In the Equipment tab you will be able to select the performer's instrument or guard equipment.

The full functionality of the Visual Editor can be found here http://www.pyware.com/3dguide/viseditor.html

Thanks Dustin

Now that I have played with it for a while, I think my issue is a FONT issue
I really would like to have numbers instead of saxophones trumpets and trombones.
I was elevated to my position a month ago and I am not 100% sure what instrumentation I have.
I know total numbers but not exact instrumentation yet
So I want to be a generic as possible and as the first week of camp goes and we are doing music and basics I can plug in my instrumentation and assign numers to people/instruments.

How do I get numbers (fontwise)?
Thanks

Hi,

I'd like to chime in and help if I could.

It sounds like you would just like to keep all of the symbols the same on the drill but number them 1-??. In this case, you would have to do a few things. You'll have to do this with each of the main sections - winds, guard, perc. Select all performers in one of those main groups and click on the Label Edit tool ("L" in the toolbar). A window will open and the very first line will say "Label" and a space to enter information. The most simple way to do this would be to enter the number 1 and then click the + button. This will auto-number all of the positions from 1 through however many you have.

Note that this will group them in the order that the forms were drawn or were selected. You'd have to glue any fragmented forms together in order make it continuous along a certain path. And you have to glue towards whatever the first position will be. Sorry if that's confusing... but it's something for you to get started on.

If this isn't what you were looking for, then maybe we can give it another go. Try it and mess with the label feature. See if that helps.

Thank You George,
I love the numbers!
That is most of what I wanted...
I still have instrument piuctures as marking the musicians, which I need to change or eliminate.
where do I do that at?

John

If you use the Labeling tool which is the Large L on the Tool palette. You can change the symbol for the performer. If you use Capital letters they will display as letters instead of the instruments.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Dustin!!!!!

I finally figured it out...

Since I have switched to Version 7 I have had no audio since.
I changed the mp3 to both a .wav and a .ogg but no sounds...
The file plays on another player I have installed on my computer.

Since I did not create this drill, how do I synchronize the new fle to the old drill?

John

Could you email me the audio file so that I may take a look at it to see what is happening?

Good Morning Dustin!
1. Thank You your prompt replies and assistance.
2. I am not thrilled about version7

The .ogg file you sent plays fine in audactiy.
I noticed it was smaller then my .ogg version...
No sound yet in Pyware 3D version 7.
Also since version 7 update, I have had nothing in my 3D view window.

What about reinstalling version 7?

John

It sounds as if your computer is not meeting the minimum requirements for the version 7.

If the real view is not loading the you will not be able to hear audio. I am sending a link for you to click on so that I can connect to the machine and trouble shoot the issue for you.

Our current version is 7.0.4.

Are you experiencing issues with that Version?
