Saved filed when reopened at later time, not complete

Post by townby » Tue Aug 15, 2006 4:53 pm

I am using an older version of Pyware Dynamic Drill Design version 2.1.2

I am having problems when I save a file. Many times it only save part of the file.

I am running it on a pentuim 4 machine with 1 gig of available RAM.

When I come back to the file to work, usually I am missing 3-5 sets of previously saved work and I get the following error log file in the folder where the files are saved

200608122255 System: Startup!
C3DDrillApp::InitInstance Line: 106 FixedLine: 146
3DDRILL.cpp Jul 19 1998 09:06:17 Version 2.1.2
200608122255 System: ShutDown!
C3DDrillApp::ExitInstance Line: 528 FixedLine: 549
3DDRILL.cpp Jul 19 1998 09:06:17 Version 2.1.2

Please advise

What operating system are you running on this computer? It sound like the file is correupt that you are trying to save. Is this problem consistant, or intermentant.

xp pro

I get the error log notice everytime I access a file. it adds both of the error logs to the existing log.

I've lost several files over the last few weeks

I have not had this problem reported before, I would suggest changing the compatablilty to Windows 98. This can be found by right clicking on the 3D program in the C:/Program Files/3D/3D.exe and choosing properties, then clicking on compatibility.

I've been using this program on this same computer for many years now and never had the problem either. I'll change the compatabilty setting but wonder why just all of a sudden I'm getting an error log each time I access and close the file. I've done a complete virus update and scan and nothing has shown up there. Just very frustrating becuase time is money right now

Would the update on the pyware site for WIN95 possible help?

The update for Win95 is an update that you already have installed in the version. Has your computer downloaded any updates recently that might effect the program?

Is this happening only on this file or does this happen on new files too?

It happens on all files, new or old.

I've haven't lost any drill this week, but for some reason, places will vanish during playback and then reappear on the next set. I did make the change you suggested and it still adds an error log everytime I open and close.

As far as downloads go, just normal virus updates etc and windows updates, but no other program has been affected.

I have taken to saving the file in two or 3 places and printing it out before I close out so at least I have a hard copy
