Two clicks on space bar equals one step.
Happens when syncing audio and when watching drill using on step per click of space bar.

It sounds like you are on a mac and have the double space adds a period option set in the keyboard settings.
Go to System Preferences> Keyboard> Text> uncheck the option for double space adds a period. This will resolve the issue.
