is there a way to view offline 3d java files?? I don't plan on making use of the online features with one of the bands i'm writing for but I'd like for the students to be able to see the drill if i save the file for them.

The Viewer has an option to import files on the same page as the download more option. This will allow you to import files from the local disk.
