No Grid

I installed 3DJIE v.4 on my new MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.4). Every time I attempt to do any function (add a performer, sync music. etc) my field grid disappears to the grey backdrop. I can get it back if I recenter, but I am unable to accomplish any actions.
