Cursor Disappears

I am using Windows Vista and Pyware 3D Java Interactive, v 3.0.7. When I place my cursor on the grid, it vanishes. It is visible on upper and lower parts of the screen, including drill count tabs and menu tabs. The same program and same computer were working well in July of 2010, but not now. I have not reformatted my hard drive, but I did install a Java update yesterday. Could this be the problem?
