I used to have this problem a bit before the update, but now after the update, it NEVER works. My pc runs games pretty well so I don't feel like it's a performance issue. My graphics drivers are up to date also. Here are my specs

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 30 Stepping 5
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 3063 Mb
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580, 1535 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 1430696 MB, Free - 512479 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC., P7P55D LE
Antivirus: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2012, Updated and Enabled

I have found a lot of times that AVG is a terrible resource hog. It's good, but it will take up a ton of resources on my Windows laptop.

I don't want to blame just one thing, though, but that's been my personal experience.

I just updated and am experiencing the same problem. I right-clicked the program to select "Run with high-performance NVIDIA processor" as usual, but that makes no difference (haven't been able to change the default graphics processor and have it stick). I updated my graphics driver today, but that didn't help, either.

Since greatcow95 pointed it out, I use MS Forefront Endpoint, not AVG, so no pattern there.

I upgraded to Windows 8 a couple months ago, but I'm 99.5% sure I tested everything in Pyware after doing so (I remember having to figure out where to put the program since right-clicking in the start screen doesn't show the graphics context menu like doing so from the start menu did).

Should I call, too, or has a possible solution been found?

Thanks!
