Is there a way to place the pit further in front of the front sidelines or in an arc?

You are adding the pit instruments using the props tool; therefore, you can put them anywhere you want on the field.

If you zoom the grid out using the grid zoom tool you will be able to place them further in front of the Front Sideline.
