Setting step size to 8 to 5

Post by andrus.katrina » Thu Jan 19, 2017 7:12 am

Is it possible to step size to 8 to 5 for a transition, so that all players do a forward march to their position and then mark time for the remainder of the transition time period?

Lets say you have 16 counts that you want to march 8 and hold 8.

You would set a tab at 0, 8, 16. Then you can spread your anchors from 0-8 then create your 8 to 5 transition. Then you can simply not do anything from 8-16 and this will be a hold for you.

Then you can add a new page tab after 16 and then design your next set.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, not all performers are taking the same number of steps in 8 to 5. i.e some will take 4 steps in 8 to 5 and MT 12 counts, some will take 10 steps in 8 to 5 and MT 6 counts. Is there a way to make them march 8 to 5 and then MT once they get to their spot?

It sounds as if you are doing a Traditional or Military style maneuver.
I accomplish this the best tool would be the Traditional Tool that is available in the Traditional Tools Plug-in.
This plug-in is available in the Professional Edition or can be purchased separately if you have the Basic or Interactive Editions.

Yes, get the Traditional Toolset. It really, really, really, really, REALLY helps, even for corps/show styled bands.
I enjoy charting military drills. Let me know if you need any assistance with one of them.
