Hiding performers & Opening files

In the next update, is it possible to add these features:

If I select a group of performers, I want to hide everybody else, leaving only the selected performers shown.

Even though this is trivial, it would also be nice to see a dropdown menu immediately under File, where I could select Open Recent files (similar to MS Office), as opposed to going thru the dialog window to select the show that I am working on.
