Mac or PC

I'm upgrading a laptop and trying to decide on a PC or a Macbook. Does anyone know if the 2014 Macbook Air has sufficient power to run Pyware 3D? or is the Macbook Pro the better option? As far as I can tell the major difference is processor power and the graphics card which is Intel HD 5000 in the Air and Iris in the Pro.

On the PC side, most average laptops have the integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics until you step up to a price point similar to the Apple. Does anyone know if the Intel HD 4400 is sufficient for running Pyware without tweaking the realview settings?

Thanks in advance!

The big question will be how many performers will you be writing for in the largest drill you write?

The more you write for the more requirements you will need to have in the machine for it to run smoothly.

Thanks for the reply. I will be writing for approximately a band size of 180 including all winds, percussion and guard.

I cannot say with certainty that the 5000 or Iris graphics will run 180 performers with shadows and smoothing (antialiasing) enabled.

These laptops are around the $899 price range and have a dedicated graphics card that will handle that amount of performers.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
