The majority of the issues reported can be resolved by installing the most current version of the software.

Download the most current version of the software from http://www.kjos.com/ipas/, you will need your book to download this file.

Windows

Installing on Windows XP
1. simply download the appropriate installer for your book and run it.

Windows Vista – Part 1 - Installing on Windows Vista:
1. Download and save the most current version of the software. You will need your book to download this file.
2. Right Click on the installer and choose Troubleshoot Compatibility.
3. Choose Try Recommended Settings.
4. Click the Start the Program button.
5. A shield will show up on the task bar at the bottom of the screen, click on this button and click yes to allow the software to make changes to your computer.
6. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Windows Vista – Part 2 - These steps are required for the first run of the iPAS software after installation on Windows Vista.
1. Right click on the iPAS icon
2. Click properties
3. Choose the compatibility tab
4. Select the box to run as administrator
5. Select the checkbox to run in compatibility mode
6. Select Windows XP Service Pack 2.
7. Press OK.
8. Run the iPAS software.

Windows 7 – Part 1 - Installing on Windows 7:
1. Download and save the most current version of the software. You will need your book to download this file.

Mac OS X
1. Download and save the most current version of the software from http://www.kjos.com/ipas/ , you will need your book to download this file.
2. Run the installer.

These steps are required when running on Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, & 10.8 after installation.
After installing iPAS on Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, if you receive the error "unable to save changes Lib\settings\users.txt (Access is denied)" when running the iPAS software, follow the instructions below.
1. Open the "Go" menu and choose "Go To Folder".
2. Type the folder name "/Library/Application Support/" and press Go.
3. Please delete the folder named "Pyware iPAS".
4. Then re-create a new folder named "Pyware iPAS".
5. Ctrl + click on the folder and choose Get Info. Go to "Ownership and Permissions."
6. Set all users to read and write.
7. Run and activate the software.
