Perspective view buttons missing

My perspective view is visible, but I am unable to resize the view and none of the buttons that should be at the top portion of perspective view are there (shift, minimize, tilt, zoom).The camara set buttons do not show either (not so worried about these). Further more, if I double click on perspevtive view (closing it) and double click it again (opening it), I am only able to adjust the tilt of the perspective and the buttons still do not exist.

I am running 3D Iteractive 5.0.8 on a MacBook Pro using OS 10.4.11 and am wondering if anyone else has had or is having this same issue and if there are any solutions to the problem.
