Performer Label Tool Problem

I am using 3d basic on Mac OSX 10.5.8. I am trying to change the color of some of my performer labels, however, when I click on the performer label tool, it does not give me the option for "color" at the bottom of the box as it used to. I can still change the label, name, label position, etc., but at the bottom, the box is just empty except for where it says "show only symbols". Have I done something to mess it up, or should I still be able to change the color?
