Pyware v.5.2.0 keeps crashing

Post by Jelantik » Wed Apr 06, 2011 11:26 pm

I upgraded my version 5.1 to 5.2. First i noticed that all the menu names were crunched together. But the application was working fine for a while. Then today, I can't open it at all. The program will start until it shows the pyware info dialog box, then crashed. I tried it more than 8 times, still crashed every time it launched and got to the info box (not even get to the message dialog box). I'm on the macPro 2008. run OS 10.5

Go to HD/Applications/Utilities/ and run the Console application. Then run the 3D software and you should get an error. If you could provide me with that error.

This seems to be an issue related to the Operating system being able to access Memory on the machine.

If you could email me a phone number and a time that I would be able to contact you to troubleshoot this issue directly.

I have a similar issue with MacOS X 10.6.7 and Java 13.4.0 (Built into MacOS X) with 3D 5.2.0. I have attached a couple of screen shots:

This screenshot shows the menu all bunched up (as the previous post mentioned)
Screen_shot1.png
And this screenshot shows what happens when you try and use the built-in updater...
Screen_shot2.png
I haven't had the total meltdown the other user mentions (yet!), but this is pretty much unusable...

Mine is working now. I tried the easiest way to clear up memory by restarting the machine. And apparently, it works. Now the program opens and works as it's supposed to be.

The update to 5.2.0 build 04 will correct the issue with the updater. You will have to manually download this update from our updates page. http://www.pyware.com/updates.html.

Well will also be releasing update 5.2.1 that will address the menu items being compressed.

Dustin,

The manual install of 5.2.0 (build 4) seems to have fixed the busy status bug... any time frame for 5.2.1? We're actually starting to review music for next field season and I'd like to mock up a couple of movement phrases.

Thanks!

Dustin and the rest of the development team!

Thank you for 5.2.1! So far all of my outstanding issues seem to have been resolved. Thanks for handling this in a timely and efficient manner (as always!)

Again, our design team thanks you!
