V7.1 locking up

Post by Psenicka » Sat Jul 07, 2012 1:44 pm

My 3D keeps locking up while I am working. I have the latest update and am running on a Mac 10.7.4

My computer is not frozen, just the program.

Thanks

Can you confirm you are running 7.0.1. This is in the Reference Menu under the About Pyware 3D.

What is happening when the program freezes?

Does the Real View go white, or does the program lock entirely?

What type of graphics card are you running in your computer, this can be found in the System Profiler under the Graphics/Displays section of the software.

How much memory do you have installed.?
Thank you

I am running v7.0.1 on a MacBook Pro v10.7.4

I have a
2.53 Ghz Intel Core i5
Intel HD Graphics 288 MB
4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory

At random times the program will just freeze. Most of the time the real view is minimized. I have to force quit and restart to move on.

Could you open System Preferences under Energy Saver and deselect Automatic Video Switching and to see if you have the issues then?

I have the same issue. It is happening since updating. How do I get to System Preferences/Energy Saver?

The System Preferences can be found on your dock and in the /Applications folder.

The energy saver option is the lightbulb icon on that window.

We have made some changes to our system this morning. Could you please restart the program and then let me know if you still experience the freeze. Please insure that you have the version 7.0.1 update installed.

Joel

What Graphics card do you have installed on your computer? That issue seems to be graphics related.

Looks like the Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family.

The message I receive is "The Java Platform SE Binary has stopped working."

That issue may be an issue with the graphics card not meeting the system requirements. I would be happy to connect to your machine to verify the software and system requirements if you would like. I have sent a session request to the email you registered this forum user with.

Users that are having intermittent freezing on Mac please make sure you are running on 7.0.1 and the system change we did this morning has corrected the issue temporarily.

We are running a 24 hour test. If you have any freezing during the next 24 hours please email me at dustin at pyware dot com.

After we complete our testing I will post a permanent solution in version 7.0.2.

I have updated from v7.1 to 7.2, and my program continues to lock up. From what you've already said, might my graphics card be obsolete?

I'm using Nvidia GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i, running on Windows Vista, 4GB ram, 2.50 GHz Pentium Dual Core.

When I open V.7.1 & v. 7.2 the problem is the same: within a couple seconds of booting the program, the program completely freezes. I see a correlation between freezing and a large box that appears, and turns from black to grey. The only way out is to access the Task Manager and force close the Java Platform SE binary, under "Processes". This closes Pyware altogether.

Thanks so much!

I'm running a desktop. I tried downloading the driver on the link you sent me, and the website said that it was incompatible with this version of Windows....?

Side-note: I still have v.6.0.9 installed as well- do I need to uninstall that?

Thanks!

Tom

Go to http://www.geforce.com/drivers. Then use the auto detect and let it tell you what driver you need for your graphics card.

Then install the driver and restart you machine. Then run the 3D Version 7.

It is not necessary to uninstall the Version 6 to run the Version 7. They can both be installed on the same machine without causing issues with one another.
